Price - sure depends on the car but would say just to give a number, below USD 30.000 - but I'm open, depends really on the car.

Hi,
a friend of mine is from 18-20. July in NY and would have time to see in New York – New Jersey areal one Vette.
For more he will not have time.
This could be a very quick business, let me know if there is any Vette, 68-71 convertible, for sale.

Hi r,
I'm afraid people are suspicious of your intention.
A person will appear and look at only one car and pay cash? for it.
This doesn't sound like a smart way for you to end up with the car you want, and I'd think the owner would be careful about having this 'person' have access to their car.
Regards,
Alan

I wondering about what should be suspicious to buy a Vette.
Background, I'm looking for a car since I'm registered in that Forum. Had several contacts in the US and selected 3 cars. One of the cars was from NJ, one in Florida and one in South Carolina. Idea was to send someone professional from Germany to see this three for me and select the best (but this costs real money to send someone just to see this three cars). About my result I wrote as well in the German Corvette Forum and asked in the round if by chance someone will go to the US and could help me. One wrote back and informed, he will be in July in NY for business and could have perhaps 1/2 day time to see a Vette for me but just if it's around NY. Now last Friday he confirmed he will go next week and I should let him know which car he should see for me.
I informed the seller, but heard nothing more from him.
Now, not missing the chance, I tried it on that way again to find a new Vette which he can see. In the end if he telling me it's not worth, I don't buy - but I don't missed the chance.
This person would just see the car to give me green light, has nothing to do with payment. Payment will be done by an international car dealer, who will as well ship the car the Europe. Same way like others doing it, who like to buy a Vette from abroad
could I now clarify my intention and show there is nothing suspicious behind.
regards

hey guys, i am a little confused about this thread ......
I recommended this Forum to Ralf because I found my C3 here ....
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3s-...s-welcome.html
Garry, who sold the Vette also was careful, but all went fine and I will get my C3 within the next two or three weeks hopefully
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...e-69-sell.html
So please, see buyers risk also, we pay and see/get what we payed 3 months later, because not everyone is able to make a short trip to US to look at some nice cars.

There should be NO problems with the way you are buying this car. I have sold cars to many places overseas and their money is as good as here in the USA. Most of the people I have sold to send pics of the cars at shows and believe me, there are alot of American cars over there. I would just update your profile and tell people where you are at. It takes a month tops to get a car there. Good Luck. If you are not in a big hurry, Carlisle Corvettes is at the end of August and there will be a ton of cars there for sale. I would guess close to 2-3000 . You should be able to buy one there with no problem.

Wolfgang just went through your story about payment, it's getting more and more clear.
I did the same, asked for the bank account to send the money – didn’t knew that could be a problem because In Europe is it normal and common way to pay.
I can assure you, I’m the same guy like Stocki, just like to buy my dream car. You can’t imagine the eyes on the streets
When you passing with an US muscle car – even with my 2010 Mustang. In my area, except of “ US Car Events”, I saw
On the street (since Sept. 2009) not more than 10 Mustang and never a Stingray.

I sold my red 69 vette to an excellent guy in Australia 3 years ago. The transaction as professional and could not have gone down any better. He paypal me $500 to hold it while he had it inspected. After inspection he wired about $5K to me and then the remaining amount of about $20K came to me 2 days before the shipping company arrived to pick it up and take it to Australia. The monies were all mine instantly to use and transfer without any problems of filling our "large deposits" or "withdrawl" forms. I could not believe it...the bank said the monies were 100% legit and all mine to use without any waiting period or possibility of having the monies taken back for any reason.
I would sell a car again to a person over seas without thinking twice as long as we followed the same proceedure.

Hi Folks,
My comment was based on the many tales on this Forum about people being cautious about "quick deals"; especially for cars going overseas.
I was trying to explain why, perhaps, you'd had so few offers of cars for sale in 6 weeks.
Have fun Ralf!
Regards,
Alan
