Default Stainless Steel Headers and Sidepipes Arrived!

Look very good, matched them up to the rotted Hooker Headers I have and they are an exact match....makes me wonder

Hi

Those are nice.
Stainless is probably the way to go.

Let us see the pics of the buffed welds. I don't know if I would touch them.

Glad your OBX headers arrived. Buff the welds. I used a drill with a system similar to the link. Will be as shiny as the rest of the headers and side pipes. Stainless steel at 1/3 the price of Hookers. Can't beat that.

Fair warning. The headers near the engine will discolor the first time you run the car. I like the look. But the exposed part of the headers and the sidepipes will remain shiny and nice.

really wicked looking laid out on the ground like the first photos. Not much in the way of the power getting rid of the exhaust and sucking more air/fuel in to power it along.

How loud is it with side pipes? Mine just has straight duals through flowmasters out the back now.

I did not put them in yet and the car has a 400-425 hp 10.75 to one 350 with heavily ported heads, I had gone 12.50s with it in an 85 Camaro. Will be a summer daily driver, so not concerned about how loud it is.

I am going to buff the welds, my father is picking up the compound today.

What should I use for a mount kit? some people tell me order the Hooker Kit? others day use lag bolts? the Hooker kit seems to have T bolts, that I imagine simply tack weld to the frame?

Please advise, thanks!

I would not doubt that the creation of these headers, which are made in China, may have something to do with...Hooker having some of their own headers made in China, I know A LOT of American companies have stuff built overseas, I mean, these are an exact copy of them and all the welds etc are very very nice, I am pretty impressed with the quality

...I know Mr Gasket has tons of stuff built in China and Mr Gasket does own Hooker...

Got mine from Josh, haven't opened the boxes yet. My engine has spent a month at the machinist waiting dyno time and tune, the racers keep breaking and sneaking ahead of me.

I got them from the same guy Clubby bought from and you can buy directly from him, outside of ebay. He told me, not a problem to put his contact info out there, so here you go
