A little help with this please
I bought a leaf spring about 2 years ago. When I got to installing it it did not fit right. It goes in and bolts up but the end bolts were loose. So I took a better look and saw that the new spring had less leafs than mine.
Well since I owned it for over a year there was no sending back. I am not sure where it came from either I think ebay. ( I price shopped a lot thinking the parts were all the same. I have learned different)
Its a triangle spring the numbers on it are 3370A30 and P73198. I searched for it but cant find it at triangle or online.
I attached some pictures and I hope someone can tell me what it is. I plan to sell it , barring that it will be yard art, if it is a corvette spring Id like to see it go to a corvette.
Thanks
Slug

Hi!
I do not understand the problem with the not fitting screws. Can you explain it little bit more?
If this is a spring for a Corvette, how mutch do you want for it? I`m eventually interested to buy it.
Can you measure the widh and length of the spring, maybe the weight too?
Cheers, Marius

Hi sk,
I believe there are supposed to be a 'cup' fitted/peened into each of the holes at the spring leaf's ends. This cup supports the rubber bushing and large flat washer that's at the end of each bolt before the nut goes on.
Do you have your old spring to look at?
Regards,
Alan

A couple of months ago, I picked up a complete VB&P Grand Touring suspension kit used at a swap meet. Included in the parts was a Triangle brand steel 9-leaf rear spring. I'm guessing that my kit was an early VB&P kit and they were using Triangle made springs back then? My spring has the Triangle label on it like yours but list manufacturing facilities in Fontane CA, DuBois PA and Monterrey, Mexico. Below is a picture. Perhaps VB&P may have some info on your spring.

I ordered it for a 1979 L82 with 350.
The spring had much less arc than the original ( it came out in pieces with hose clamps holding it.) When I installed it the end bolts were too long. I looked at the time and saw that shorter ones were available but I did not think the car would sit right .
I checked over at VB&P and did a few searches but no joy. That was a great find Mako
Neither my old spring or the new one had a cup on it . What year is yours Alan?
If it helps anyone the new front springs I got were about 2 inches shorter than the ones that came out. I am not worried about that as this forum has a lot of documentation on it.
I would like to sell it but I dont want to lead someone else down this path.
Thanks all for the help I hope I can get it identified
Ill get the measurements up this weekend.
