C1 and C2(BigTank) from Europe
Hello everybody here!
Here is a pic (hope it works!) from our Corvettes.
We are two Corvette enthusiasts here in Austria/Europe and met us as often as possible. My Vette is the ´60 it is a 245 hp dual quad it was frame off restored from 1993 to 1996. I bought my vette in 1993 in North Carolina.
The C2 from my budy is a ´66 BigTank coupe with nearly all options incl. A/C. (flared fenders) He bought it 3 years ago from the first owner. His Corvette was first (original) delivered to Austria.

There was a story many years ago about the chase to purchase one of two for 1967 big tank Corvette models. It took many years for the guy to persuade the owner to sell. The Corvette was a coupe original> white with the bright blue interior. It was a small block with the 350 HP motor. The Corvette looked like new after it was restored. There was a rumor about a 1967 L88 with the big tank but I don't know if that one was legit. No question; the white Corvette was a big tank car!

The reported number of two´67 big tank Corvettes (Noland Adams book) does not include the export models. Here in Austria we know two ´66 and one ´67 big tank. And it is definitive that this vettes are teal big tanks, no fakes.
Here is the ´67. First owner still known. Car was sold to a collector from Germany a few month ago.

On our www.c2registry.org we have a few big tanks registered. One is for sure an original export to Europe....I am at work now...so when at home I will try to list some details!

the 63 is the Micky Thompson racer
the 65 is an original car sold in Spain / Europe in 65
Just FYI...
I also got some info on orginal ones shipped to Finland and Switserland.

Thank you Mike for your investigation!
I´m a bit amazed that there is so little response here for such a rare Corvette.
Here is a pic that shows the bigTank from the inside.

why did he recover the back with carpet? I can only think why there is little response to this thead is that big tankers are a rare car but theres not that many people that like them or know anythig about them.

As you can see at the pic with the jacking instructions the tank is painted saddle, same as the interior is. The carpet was made by the first owner to protect luggage not to glide against the body because bare (painted) fiberglass is very smoth. The current owner is very happy with this carpet because the paintjob and the jacking sticker are undamaged.
@mike
my ´60 is already listed, the ´66 will be tonight.

Hello, Heinz
nice rides do you have any more pics of the 66?
Z06s for racing.
The one that was in Hemmings for a couple years advertised as the salt flat car was thought to be a fake. The other that is well documented is sitting in a garage in suburban Detroit. Do you know the serial number for the Mickey Thompson race car?
