I've had my 96 since last November and so far, knock on wood, I haven't run across any idiots - trucks or otherwise. I have gotten a few compliments and the occasional wave from another Corvette while driving, but no trouble makers. I did get into a mild race from a red light with an import car of some kind once, but it was friendly and fun and didn't get out of hand. I'm so happy when I'm driving my car I don't really care what other people are doing - as long as they're not trying to run into me!
I honestly don't pay any attention to those types of people. There are things that irritate me in this world. Some joker attempting to show off in a car that I don't care about isn't even on my radar.
I get just as many douchebags in trucks and newer cars that want to race or drive dumb around me (I have a C5) as I do cool people out in their fun cars that wave when we cross paths. Take the good with the bad.
Ignore them, do your thing and enjoy your car. Who cares what anyone else thinks - just hope they don't cause an accident.
Please no 4 letter "F" words on here, thank you... just kidding all classics and especially muscle cars are great... First on race day? hmmm to the pits? We all drove the big three at one time or the other and even a few Asian and European cars... Life.
