Have C7 Z06 M7 prices finally stopped rising?
#481
C8s do very well on a road course and are very competitive with the C7Z. The mid-engine design lets the car rotate better in the turns and the DCT helps to get the power to the ground better, if a driver practices they can reduce lap times even more by left foot braking.

The C7Z sits 23rd on their all time lap time list (2006-2024) and it is the oldest car in the top 30 with exception of the 2014 Porsche 918 which recorded a 2:43.1 in 2014. Next oldest is a 2009 Mosler MT900S which recorded a 2:45.9 for 30th place.
It’s incredible how high up the all time track times from around the world the C7Z still sits….and no dual clutch trans needed.

This is true. For example, C&D Lighting Lap, at VIR Grand Course the 2015 C7Z Z07 7 speed did a 2:44.6 in 2015. In 2021 they turned a 2:49.0 in a Z51 C8.

I am sure the C7Z and the other cars on the list have been around Grand Course faster than the posted C&D times, but it gives us a good baseline for how the cars are tested and under the same criteria. C&D test at the the time the car is new from the factory so it keeps a fair playing field. Software updates, newer tire technology, etc could definitely benefit many of the cars on that list, but then you started playing the if’s and but’s game.

Pretty amazing car, the C7 Z06 is considering you can buy a nice example in the 70s range without the headaches of an exotic.

I received another solicitation from my local dealer to outright buy back my 2015 C7 Z07 Vert M7 3LZ with less than 5K miles, no trade involved. I get at least one of these solicitations a week. They have C8’s sitting on the lot at sticker or less from what I hear. Appears that there is still a market for specific C7 Z07’s!

However, it’s a great car and a good deal when compared to the competition. I also do not like what I’m hearing about keeping the engine bay clean, you don’t want to be caught in the rain, it would drive me nuts. However, to each their own!
The C8 is a great sports car, I actually intended to purchase one but after driving it, it was just not for me, especially compared to my Z07. Many people really dig them and that’s cool. I think I’ll wait for the next round!

I hear ya, but then they would need to test the most updated versions of the other cars (same gen). You can’t just say the C7Z would move up X number of spots and the other cars, which got similar updates during their life cycle, would stay stagnant. Most likely they would all move in linear fashion so they overall placings would track similar. 4 seconds is a lot from a mag ride update, surely driver and conditions factored into that better time?

#bumpdate. Remember that guy who got drunk, then paid 165K? Well, it appears that same guy got high on 4/20, then paid 108K for a 2018 C7Z06 M7 with 4K miles. That is pushing the numbers up. Solely based from classic.com, it appears the market value is up 33% (60K to 80K) over the last 3 months for ALL C7Z06s. You can correct me if I am wrong.

It’s all good…lol! The C7 Z06 is hard to beat for the money, get them while you can!

I guess you can blame me too as I paid 105K (with BAT fees) for my 2017 Z06/Z07 M7 Coupe with 448 miles.

So how about a Z06 M7 Callaway, what does having a Callaway do for value? Mine is 2016. 3LZ, Comp Seats and carbon roof and interior. Got a little over 12k miles on her. Always wondered how much more value a Callway would have over a stock Z06... Thoughts?

I’ve found that low mileage “Stock” is what a lot of people are looking for and tend to hold their value better than most modified! However, there’s always someone looking for that special mod, Callaway is one of those mods!
