E-RAY first feedback
I have received my E-RAY, probably the first to arrive in Quebec, last week (serial number 00045).
What a nice car! I previously had a C8 2023 HTC Z51 with the FE4 suspension (30,456 km).
After only 250 km on my E-RAY, here are my first comments:
As the E-RAY has bigger wheel diameter, this means that it also has less rubber. You can feel the difference right away as you can feel the imperfection of the road much more intense even with the suspension sets in the comfort mode.
The car has the carbon ceramic brakes as standard. They are probably very good on a track when hot but for regular driving you have to apply a lot more force on the brake pedal to stop the car. I will have to get used to it.
The stealth mode is very pleasant. You can escape the neighborhood in silent. I did 3,8 miles crossing the village in full electric. You have to be very gentle with the accelerator otherwise the combustion engine kicks in.
In normal driving, you can feel that you have an electric motor in the front axle. You have a heavier feeling on the steering wheel.
When you engage the Charge + then the transmission downshift 1 gear and you feel that you are now forcing the front motor to become a generator. The car has much less freewheeling. The battery will recharge in a very short period of time. Probably in less than 3 miles.
On highways at cruising speed, the front motor is not used. The battery stays in the almost full charge status. The electric motor gets involve if you accelerate or if you have to claim a slope.
New in 2024 is the lane keep assist. When active, if you get close to the side line then the car turns the steering wheel a little to get you back in the middle of the road.
Also new in 2024 is the vehicle ahead indicator. It will brake the car to avoid a collision with another car or pedestrian but it has no effect when using the cruise control. It does not convert the cruise control into an adaptative cruise control.
More to come when I will pass the break-in period and be able to get the full power of the car.

The carbon ceramic brakes will stop the car much better with less brake pedal force after they've got a few miles on them.
I was able to do 3.6 miles in Stealth Mode without starting with a 100% charge, and I had to go up a hill (as shown in my YouTube video). Since you got 3.8 miles, I'll have to give it another try. Keith at CorvetteBlogger jokingly suggested we have a leaderboard for this!

I have been doing the 3.8 miles driving in traffic which means that I had to slow down and stop several time which probably help as it recharge the battery doing so.
It was also a flat drive with only a little slope going up at the end of the electric ride. Lets open the leaderboard :-)
I saw your video prior of having my E-Ray. Nice!

Congrats on your new ride.
The CCBs need to be bedded, much more so than the Z51 brakes needed bedding. Find a road where you do at least some of the procedure and they will start to feel better.

Well, I wondered were you were?. Strange I thought that you would have had your car delivered before mine. I am VIN #00054 Picked my car up on April 9th. Love your red one. I am also on the Canadian Corvette Forum.

The car arrived at the dealer in Sherbrooke on April 3rd.
The person that ordered the car changed his mind and the car become available about 2 weeks ago.
I bought the car and had the wheels powder coated in glossy black as they were polished aluminium.
I tool delivery on May first.
The car now have 339 km. Can't wait to pass the break-in period and really try the car performance.
Should be in a week or two depending on the weather which is not looking too good for the next several days.

Dippold,
I saw your built. Very nice. As I bought an E-Ray from another guy, I am missing some options like the E60 (front lift, the 3LZ (mine is a 2LZ), the black exhaust.
I saw that you have ordered the battery tender. I have the old model of battery tender that I bought with my 2023 Stingray but the E-Ray has a Lithium 12 volts battery and the previous battery tender is not intended to be used on a Lithium battery.
Could you be kind enough to give me the GM part number of your battery tender?
My local dealer has looked into GM system to find the right battery tender but he was ubable to find the right one.
Thanks in advance!

Congrats on your ERay…your specs look very similar to mine as I pick mine up in a few days. How do you like the high polish wheels? They do look sharp from your photo. Cheers

I hope more ERay owners will participate in this fun activity and post in that thread. Stealth Mode isn't the main reason I bought my ERay, and it probably isn't yours either, but this is still a great way to have fun with our cars — especially since they are such unique Corvettes, having all-wheel drive!

I have 1400 kms on mine now. My Stealth mode never works from a cold start up even in a heated garage @ 17C or 63F. It says Stealth mode not available. What is everyone's experience with this. GM stated Stealth doesn't work in cold temps 10C but 17C is above that threshold. The Hybrid battery is 3/4 charged in all cases.

I have another thought. Is this the screen you get? I think not, since this gives temperature as the reason Stealth Mode is unavailable. Does it say something else in place of that statement at the bottom?
Also, do you have your seatbelt buckled?
I haven't tested it, but it's stated above and in the Owner's Manual sounding like that's required.

Good point - I will check on the seat belt routine as I can't say for sure if it was buckled.
