Cabin Air Filter

I ALWAYS try to use OEM parts on everything I own. In this case I was in Walmart getting the oil, they had no cabin air filters for my car. I went to the local parts store, they had none either but they had 3 to order from, I ordered the Denso because it was a name I recognized. I'll probably order an AC Delco online now and try again, not happy with the way the Denso went in...thank you!

I bought the K&N reusable cabin air filter. Ridged frame around filter makes install and removal a breeze.

Thanks for all the input, I ordered the AC Delco Carbon filter #CF1131C from Amazon, got here the next day, cost around $18. I checked a few local parts stores (no O'Reilly's around here) but nobody had a Delco filter in stock. It is DEFINITELY a better made filter (made in China BTW ), much firmer and sturdier then the Wix I had in or the Denso I attempted to use. I installed it today, took my time and it slid in nice and easy with no bunching up. I'll stick with AC Delco from here on in.

Try cutting the frame of the filter a bit.
I noticed a few small cuts in the frame of the filter between the pleats of the old filter. I made a few cuts in the new $3 one and it slipped in fine. The cuts go about 1/2 to 2/3 across the width of the filter and iirc I made about 3 or 4 cuts on either side.

I installed a new ACDelco CF1131C carbon cabin filter recently and noticed that the fit is snugger than before.

You don’t oil these filters. There’s a kit that has the specific cleaner and what they call ‘refresher’. I’ve got one and that’s how I’ve been servicing it. The refresher doesn’t seem to be oil, so I think it would be a mistake to use any kind of oil.

I bought my cabin filter HERE ON EBAY. It looks dirty right out of the box but it filters out smaller particulate, is more sturdy, better quality compared to most others. I consider it over-kill for the application. I bought it for the cheap price. Actually I bought two of them.
