Are Rear Trunk Heat Shield Kits actually Effective?
Just not interested in investing the time and $ if they're not.
Thanks!

Yes. See my data/results here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...for-trunk.html
Does it still get warm back there? Yes.
Was there a a noticeable improvement? Absolutely!
I at least don't feel bad about putting my laptop or groceries back there now. We're both here in the DFW-area and I'll tell you it does help, especially during the heat of summer.

I've seen reports that show some improvement, and others than show minimal, if any improvement. Even Kracka's well done test says two things to me:
Heat rise while the car is being driven isn't really enough to be an issue (9F before insulation).
The insulation didn't really make any significant difference in trunk temps during heat soak after shutting the engine off.
I suspect if you park an earlier Corvette coupe in the sun on a warm day the cargo area gets even hotter than the trunk of the C8.

I should redo my tests now with the Borla exhaust to see how that compares to the stock NPP muffler.

I bought the one from TKO and got a chance to test it today by feel. I can say there is a noticeable improvement. Would I expect bags of ice not to melt? No. But I think items subject to heat will hold up in a suitcase without turning into a blob. My car is a Z06 with stock exhaust.

Forcing that heat back into the air box ...
Any tests on intake temps with shielding applied to airbox?

Just an FYI, I've got a '23 Stingray HTC. Just got back from Bowling Green (3000 miles round trip) and scientifically monitored LOL the luggage area by sticking my hand into the trunk and around my luggage and never found it hot, warm but not hot. My '17 GS convertible trunk ran warmer. That includes a couple of days well into the '80s. A friend of mine with his '24 monitored the trunk temps during the trip and found the same thing. During our factory tour watching the body mating to the chassis we both noticed a good amount of insulation lining the exterior of the trunk area facing the engine compartment and around the engine. Not clear if GM added more insulation in the newer models? That said, when I had the trunk lid open, the heat pouring out of the engine from the grates on the rear deck was very hot.
