Default HTC Engine Cover

I finally got the carbon fiber engine cover from Jogon on eBay. Wanted to see the engine and couldn't find the oem part for a decent price.

I think it looks great! I have some concerns about heat but will keep any eye on it.

Looks good. The OEM engine appearance package was on constraint when I ordered mine. I’d like to have it, but just not worth a thousand dollars IMO.

Especially when this one, with exposed carbon fiber, is only 600!

Looks good and the opening is a bit wider than OEM. How difficult was the installation?

OP, very nice looking mod but I still have concerns about heat related issues impacting the convertible top with these aftermarket ones. This one looks nicely made, but some are just molded pieces of clear plastic.

I justified the factory one when I ordered mine (it wasn’t on constraint) because it and any results from it are under warranty. I am at 3400 status with a TPW of 5/27, and hoping to see mine by mid June. Fingers crossed.

I have the same cover and love it. I did add some additional insulation though I don't think you need it.
FYI Paragon is now selling the factory engine cover

Installation is super easy. Remove the t15 screws holding the oem cover, then swap the covers and reuse the screws. Took me maybe 15 minutes

I did the same. In addition, my build is VERY similar to yours. Pick mine up at the Museum on Monday the 20th!

Congrats! Museum delivery is a bucket list experience but too bad factory tours are suspended.

Went for an hour drive in hot summer weather. The cover was definitely hot to the touch but I could hold my hand on it without pain (very scientific method). Will continue to monitor it

Shockingly fast. I want to say I had it in hand four or five days after ordering.

Looks great did you use the standard peel and stick foil insulation?

Even though its under the hood, do you find Jogon's carbon fib looks very close to factory(someone else mentioned for Inter. that jogon CF matches factory CF Very well

Outside of the steering wheel and gt2 seats, don't have any carbon fiber on the car that isn't painted. I will say, the CF from jogon looks absolutely great

What kind of plastic is used for the clear cover? How resistant to discoloration/warping from sustained exposure to high temps?

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

I believe the C8Z06 clear covers are Lexan or polycarbonate. I was concerned about heat and heat induced distortion BUT watched several YouTube Videos that had Chevrolet dealers installing and testing the clear covers in high heat conditions and after a search I could find no failures when tested on super hot sunny days and when GM offered their clear panel option for new Z06 cars ……….all that data was convincing enough for me to buy a clear cover. I wish GM had offered a “see through panel” for the OEM convertible rear decklid so when the top is up one can see the engine.
