Mixing Interior Silver Trim with Carbon Fiber Trim?
I have been reluctant to add CF to some areas in my C8 interior because not sure if it would look funny/odd. I don’t want to cover all the silver trim with CF because not only would it be costly I think it be way over the top and not in a good way.
So what do you think about having both trim types in the interior? Anyone done that?
Areas I’m interested in doing;
- CF Door Speaker Cover Trim
- CF Steering Wheel Center Frame
- CF Steering Wheel Cover Trim
- CF Paddle Shifters
Example….

JMO, but I think having the trim all the same would look better, but I can't say a combination like you mention would look totally out of place on the car.

One of the reasons I haven't added any Carbon Fiber to the interior of my car - it seems like I would want "all or nothing". The other reason is that I never really caught the Carbon Fiber bug to begin with.

I’m doing the:
Three piece silver dash trim
Speaker covers
Window switch plate on the doors
Door lock/door open surround
Silver trim around the gear selector
Silver trim front camera/Stability/Traction switch
Trying to make it look OEM+…. any silver trim except the paddles and steering wheel… will be carbon fiber. Waiting for one more piece…
There’s more pieces available but I only plan on changing the trim. Not going to cover leather with white stitching with carbon fiber.
I have a black interior so I think it’s a great fit.
I might do the paddles and cover the bright trim around the center of the steering wheel but we’ll see…

I bought the GM CF package with my C8 and at the time pondered the same. I thought up front I would want to change the polished pieces to CF. Now that I have it, I like the highlights the polished pieces add. I have learned over the years that too much CF can actually cheapen the look of a car if overdone. The only extra piece of CF I have added is the waterfall, as I didn't like the gray plastic look. I have left the polished pieces as-is, though have considered steering wheel pieces. Again a fine line between looking good or cheap.

The main reason why I added CF 3-piece dash, gear selector, and steering wheel trims, along with CF extended paddles, was to pull together and coordinate with the GT2 seat CF trim in my 2LT stealth optioned interior ...
I like the combination of both CF and stealth trim pieces...

Drifting
The stick on CF overlays are a Hell of a Lot cheaper than the Stealth Covers to replace !

" Perfect! I just finally received my C8 after 9 months and the dealer remove 2 options (including Stealth Interior BAZ) from my build without asking me. (To "push it through") I REALLY prefer the black! Was it a pain to remove and replace? This parts guy could not find the switch plates, but quoted $989 for just the 3 speaker covers. Which makes me furious since it was a $599 options I selected. "

Unfortunately the stealth option wasn’t available in 2022.

My thoughts are that if you're going to commit to adding those CF trim pieces you mention earlier then I'd also add 3-piece CF dash and door control panel trim plates as well....

Since you ask... I don't care for either. I like all matching black. But, what difference does it make; it's your car. Do as YOU wish and never look back.
