Default Help! Rear wheel went haywire!

I was driving my 64 vert to a show tonight when it felt like I was driving over a rough patch of road and then the steering wheel started vibrating very hard. I smelled burning rubber and a truck driver flagged me over to tell me it looked like the left rear wheel was about to come off. The wheel was bent in and the tire was rubbing against the wheel well so hard that the rubber was burning and smoking. The tow truck driver said it look like an upper bearing went bad. When he rolled it off the flat bed onto the street in front of my house, the wheel slipped back into place but you can wiggle the wheel with your bare hands. Any clue what's wrong???
