Tire recommendations for 94 Targa LT1

My 94 LT1 Targa top has Goodyear tires (standard 17" - approx 285 rear & 255 front) on factory rims. Will soon need new set.
I will not use the car for racing autocross etc.; just a fun "weekend play car". I would like suggestions for tires that would quieten and smooth out the ride.
Less than Z-rated would be OK as I do not expect to drive the car at
high speeds except for very short periods (a minute or two).
This is my first sports car & have owned only a month, so all comments would be appreciated by this novice.

TTT Anyone have anything good to say about the kuhmos?

I used BFG KDWS for everyday a few years back. They were quiet and good in the rain.

I will suggest Falken 512s. I have become a falken fan afer using several different tires...

I also heared that the Sumitomo HTRZs are good...

I have Kumho MX's on the Corvette. Good tire. Quiet.
Remember; the Corvette's stiff ride is not purely a function of tires......
I also have Yokohama ES100's on another car and really like them.
