What is the best Tire Size for 17"X9.5" wheels on '94 coupe?

I have Potenza 275.40ZR17 now

275/40/17 is probably best. 285/40 also fits very well but has a slightly taller side wall than the 275.

275-40-17 is the correct size....and the 285-40 is not taller it's more narrow......275=how wide the tire is so the bigger the number the wider it is and 40= milameters for the height of the sidewall.

40 is the aspect ratio. Meaning that the sidewall is 40% of the width. 40% of 285 is greater than 40% of 275. Therefore taller sidewall. As for the correct size, 88-92 had a 275 mounted on all four of the 9.5 inch wide wheels. 93-96 standard size came with a 285 mounted on the rear wheels which were also 9.5 inches wide and the fronts being only 8.5 inches wide came with 255's.

Actually, the 285 is both taller AND wider than a 275 of the same model tire.
