Default Buying new tires - should I save old ones to give away?

Bought my 92 in February; it had not been getting much uses. Fronts are old (?) GY Eagle GSC's - 275/40/17's, with decent (legal) tread left, but some cracking at the corners.

Are the fronts worth giving to someone, like a freebie to mount just to burn up, or should I just junk 'em?

Rears are in much better shape, same size BFG Comp TA's with +15k on them; I'm tempted to keep them as spares.

BTW, I'm in San Diego area if anyone is interested in those GSC's.

Check the DOT codes on the tires. If they are over 4 years old, you've probably got some sidewall deterioration showing up. Pitch 'em and get new tires.

Someone MIGHT want them for a burnout contest, but since burnout contests are not big in San Diego, they will probably sit around your garage for a long time..............................

It's a nice gesture, but I would have to agree that they will probably just take up space in your garage. Besides, if you just let the business take them when they change your tires, you won't have to deal with the California tax when you try and throw them away.

If the T/A's are in much better shape, they might be worth holding on to depending on their age. Even a low mileage tire can have internal problems from age.
