18/20, 19/20 , 18/19??

I'm unsure abuot the use of 20s besides their appearance. They do not yield any positive results in performance as far as I gather. However, what is the best situation that yields positive performance with positive looks. 18/19, 19/19, 18/18. I'm unclear on what most people recommend for this or what the common opinion is. Thanks :cool:
