Default 255s on a 9.5 and 285s on an 11

Has anyone ever put 255/45/17s on a 9.5" wheel and 285/40/17s on an 11" wheel? I'm only asking as I am finally getting rigd of the 8.5" fronts and gettign two 11" rears instead. The problem is that my tires are like new (3000 miles), so can I move the front tires to the old rear wheels, and put the rear tires on the new rear wheels?

According to the fitment charts, they are approved, but what will it look like?

Thanks,
Preston

I think that you are better off selling the 255's and use the money toward a set of 315's the 255s on the 9.5's will look way undersized and so will the 285's. Not to mention you have more of a chance of getting curb rash since the tire is going to be stretching inward. You shouldn't have much trouble getting rid of the 255's you'll probably take a little hit $50-$100 but I think that is better than undersizing. Just MHO

That was my thoguht too, but I really like my Potenza RE 730s, and not only do they not offer a 315, they do not even make that tire anymore.

The 750's are a good choice as well, but what I put on my 315's was the new Goodyear GS-D3's and man do they look sweet, big sweeping channels and they were resonably priced at the tire rack.

I just bought a set of 18x9.5x11's and it came with 285/30's all the way around. Front looks good but rear looks weird as compared to front. Tire is shorter and spread out. Going to pull off rear and have already bought 315/30's for it and put the now spare 285's on the front of a new set of 18's I just bought.
