01 Z06 wheels vs 02 and newer Z06 wheels

Just wondering if the 01's are any stronger than the 02 and newer Z06 wheels? I've heard the 01's weigh slightly more than the 02's and newer? Which would be best for roadracing/autocrossing?

The '01s are forged; the '02+ wheels are spuncast. All other things being equal, a forged wheel will be stronger than a cast wheels. The '01s are slightly (fraction of a pound) heavier. As to which is better, I can't answer your question, but I doubt that the 1 to 1 and a quarter additional pounds total of a set of '01 wheels would make a significant difference....
