Default What's the Difference?? (In over my head

Looking to change out the stock OEM tires and wheels on my 04 coupe but there are so many choices, it makes my head hurt!!

What is the actual difference between the GM OEM wheels and those that are called "reproductions" (other than the fact that GM (Chevy) want over $600 for one wheel)?

Some of the wheel styles have up to three pieces? Any issues with these types of wheels? How about those with the allen head screws?

Anybody know where I can find a chart that will show me tires sizes that keep the same aspect ratio as the stock GY's as I increase wheel size? I understand the front and rear tires have to be within 4% of each other to avoid having to recalibrate (re-tune) the computer.

Would somebody please unscrew my head and make me smarter on this subject? :D :D :D

Thanks!! :seeya

Tire calculator- http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

OEMs versus repro - former are lighter, probably better quality

2 or 3 piece wheels versus 1 piece: biggest advantage is versatility (offsets, etc.) and ease of repair if you bend a lip. Multipiece may be stronger than 1 piece; they can leak.

I realize this is a very abbreviated explanation, but I'm sure others will chime in. Good luck.
