Default Can I mount 275-40x17 Drs on 8.5" Sawblades?

I bought a set of used sawblades to mount a pair of drag radials. Then I had the bright idea to mount 285-40R17 tires on the 9.5 inch pair so I could go 285s all around. And use the 8.5 inch pair to mount the drag radials. The drag radials came today and they look awful wide at the tire bead, 9.5 inches in fact.

Is it going to be a problem to mount these on 8.5 inch wheels?
