I am planning on putting Z06 rims on my coupe, with tires appropriate for those rim sizes (more or less the OEM sizes). I've pretty much decided the tires I install will either be the Toyo or Kumho, but haven't decided between them. I'd like your thoughts.
BTW, I know the Kumhos are available through the TireRack(with which I've previously done business); the only mail order place I know of for the Toyos is http://www.treadepot.com. with whom I'm not familiar. Any experience with that business, or other recommendations should I select the Toyos? TIA.
Re: Which to choose - Toyo Proxes or Kumho MX? (wamara)
the kumho mx's look AWESOME! i just got them. but i have absolutely no idea how they ride, since they're sitting in my garage. will have them mounted in about 2 weeks and will post a report if that helps at all in your decision.

I ran the Kuhmo MX's on my 87 last year for autocross and a couple of track days. Very sticky tire for what is really advertised as a high performance summer street tire. I would equate them to the much more expensive BFG KD tire. The were predictable at speed and didn't break loose without notice. The price and delivery from Tire Rack was excellent and I think it was well worth the money.

I put the Kumho's on my '96 at Christmas. Haven't pushed them yet, but can tell you they feel somewhat stiffer than the old Goodyears. This may be a result of going with slightly wider wheels at the same time as the new Kumho's were put on, but based on previous experience, I don't think so....
