Ordered a pair for the rear (plenty of tread on the fronts still), and some guy from Tirerack calls me and basically tells me that because I have KDW's on the front, they won't sell me Kumho's for the rear. I spent 5 minutes explaining that I was aware of all the supposed risks, etc., and just wanted my tires, but to no avail. So he cancelled my order.
What do I do now?? :banghead:
EDIT: And yes, I know I should have just lied and said I had Kumhos on the front, it didn't occur to me at the time that it would be a problem, damned natural honesty :mad
Re: Who besides Tirerack sells Kumho Ecsta MX's??? (TGrits10)
That was the only annoying part of my dealings with the tire rack. I ordered my front tires from them earlier this year online, and they put my order "on hold pending phone consultation".
Despite my email reply explaining this is exactly what I wanted, they wouldn't put my order through until I finally got a hold the salesguy on the phone (took a couple tries) and I repeatedly assured him that the 275/30/19 Pirelli's I ordered would in fact fit the front of my C5. :banghead:
I can understand raising a red flag for the average uninformed consumer possibly ordering the wrong thing, but geez, when a customer is sure he's ordering the product he wants, sell it to him!.

call me ... I'll take care of everything for you .... I do not know who you spoke with but, give us a second chance ...... you won't be disapointed .... and remember not everybody is as into the modifications of their cars and a technically knowledgable as Vette owners so, we do have to be careful because of liability concerns with the overly litigation prone society
Re: Who besides Tirerack sells Kumho Ecsta MX's??? (Luke@tirerack)
I've ordered 4 sets of tires from tirerack.com for 3 different cars, all with a slightly different size than OEM. All 4 times a rep would call me to inquire about it. I told them that's what I wanted (with an explanation) and they said no problem and processed my order.
Let's say I accidentally ordered the wrong size/tire and they ship them to me, I'd have to ship them back and wait a few more days for the correct tire.
I'm glad they do call, true customer service. I'm sure I order many more tires from them. TIRERACK!

You guys got your second chance and you did well, after I posted this thread I ordered online again and nobody called. Got 'em this afternoon :). Maybe Tirerack isn't so bad after all
And next time, I'll just call you first (there WILL be a next time :yesnod: )
