i have an 85 and my friend has an 85 we both run 17 by 11 all way around the rears stick out ever so slightly. i like the way they look and handle great auto xing. put-em on!!!!!
Real ZR-1 17x11 wheels have +36mm offset, these will fit well on 84-87 vettes. For 88+ vettes you would want replica ZR-1 17x11" rims / or grandsport wheels with +50mm offsets.
Does the zr1 17x11 50mm (for an 89) stick out at all and are these the ones that look just like the 6 slot stock 88-89 wheels with the center hub that covers the lugs?
Do you know if the 17x11 ZR1 wheels that look like the stock 1989 17x9.5 wheels have the offset stamped on the inside of the wheel like the stock wheel? I found what is claimed to be ZR1 1989 17x11s in another state that the seller tells me has no offset imprinted on the inside and he doesn't know what the offset is. He said the inside is stamped with "344w88" and they came off an '86 so I guess thats a 36mm?
They did make ZR-1s in 89' but most were desroyed and non were sold to the public, there are some prototype 89 ZR-1 wheels out there, they are basicly 36mm offset 17x11 version of 89 wheels with lug nut covers on them.
They are the ones with the lug covers. I think they gotta be 36mm offset and if they are the prototypes maybe they didn't stamp the offset in them like they did on the regular issue 56mm 17x9.5 stock 89 wheels.
Thanks for the info and pics everyone. I am pretty sure this will be my next mod. Does anyone sell grandsport rims that will match the original sawblades that are going to stay on the front.
