The tire is recommended for a 9-11" wide wheel, and the stock C5 front is 8.5" wide, so it's a bit too big. You may also experience some rubbing on the inside of the tire with the wheels turned all the way.
The only time I see anyone ask about this size for the front is because they want to run the Kumho's with a 295/35/18 rear. If this is what you are contemplating, the 255/40/17 on the front would be the best match for it heightwise, and will fit your wheel much better.

nah, the only reason I was thinking about it is I have a brand new pair on my T/A in the front and since I am selling it I would like to keep the tires instead of having to buy brand new ones again. I thought our C5 rims were 9" like the WS6 wheels.

Will these fit stock Y2K wheels.
Can't comment on fit issues in the front, but the dia's are the same.........width is 9.7" for stock size, 11.0" for 275/40/17s.
