Polishing HRE's

I have HRE547s on my 98, and although they look great, thay take a LOT of time to keep looking good. There's a place near me that will machine polish and clearcoat them for $140/wheel. The clearcoat has a lifetime warranty and the place (Wheel Collision Center) has an excellent repuatation. Is this a bad idea?

I have heard it said that a clearcoated wheel will not be as shiny as a polished wheel that was not clearcoated, but... it would seem if you are not willing or able to polish the uncoated wheels regularly, you would be better off having them polished and clearcoated and be done with it. Yes, there may be maintenance issues, but if the clearcoat is warrantied, what have you got to lose? Just my .02.
