Default salt left on polished rims

Heys guys I purchased a 00 coupe with 10k miles in Pa. I noticed the polished rims had some places on them on the inner dish but thought it would polish out. I now believe it was salt left on the rims. I haven't taken them off yet but tried some wenol and then a clay bar with not much results. Does anyone know of a procedure or product to remove this. They look pretty bad in this condition.

I've had good luck with x-treem metal polish
I think they were bought out by a company, but not sure.
anyone know?

The clay bar smoothed out the surface but places remained. I believe the salt may have ate thru the clear coat, assuming the inside dish has a coat of clear on them. I'm not sure.
