Whats the biggest tire I can run on 17/18" Y2k vette rims??

Ive got a set of 17x8.5" front adn 18x9.5" Y2k vette rims and was wondering what is the widest tires I can run on there safely. Right now theyve got brand new DUNLOP SP Sport 9000 series rubber on them, 245/45/17 front and 275/40/18 rears. For some reason the rear tires dont seem to fill up the rim copletely like they should, of course this could just be an illusion created by the shape of the sidewall, im not sure. Also can I go lower on the sidewall? like to maybe a 40 series in the front and a 35 or 30 in the back?

I would suggest no larger than a 265/40/17 front, and a 295/35/18 rear.
These are the stock Z06 tire sizes. The Z uses 9.5 and 10.5" wide wheels, but most of the tire brands in the above sizes specify a minimum rim width of 8.5 and 9.5", so they wil safely fit your Y2k wheels.
