Is this what we're in for if we buy tires from TireRack?

Here's a link from a TireRack customer whose Firestone runflats are falling apart, apparently without recourse, supposedly because they are performance tires: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=514233 Is this the standard m.o. for the TireRack?

First, nearly all performance tires have a warranty for defects in workmanship and/or materials, but not for mileage.
Secondly, it would be good to see pictures of the tires, to help understand the cause of the damage. With the stiff RFT tires, we have seen some damage from mounting, especially dismounting. Shops don't tend to use tire lube at the dismount phase. If a tech damaged the tire when he was taking it off, he may not have said anything...

I think the first thing should be an inspection by picture, or in person here at The Tire Rack, or at a local firestone store then we can take the next step in determining the cause, and if any mfg. warranty applies.
