I need rear tires for my 96. Fronts still have about 50% left. Currently I have Goodyear GS-C's all around. I'm trying to decide between several choices. Do I get new GS-C's for the rear only, or do I get fronts also since I understand that the GS-C's are going to be discontinued. However if I get all 4 tires anyway then I can also choose from other tire brands. If I do this I've been told that the Firestone Firehawk SZ50EP is an excellent choice for a little less money. I'm looking for tires that handle very well for all around driving (very rarely in rain), quite ride, and I also really like the look of the wide tread on the GS-C's. What do you guys think of these two choices of tires, or any other suggestions. Trying to keep price at $200 or less per tire. Thanks for any comments.
A friends Daughter. I have known her for years when we get a nice Sat. Will go outdorrs for some bikini pics. There is another picture of her on my personal web page. When I get the rest of the shot I will make a web page for her. :)
Stay away from the Firehawks if you like the wide tread look. These have the most wimpy looking tread width of any tire available for the vette. Ashame because tehy really are a good tire.
Don't believe? If you can find a vette with them installed , just take a look.
Of course funds may be an issue but here is s short list of some good summer performance tires to look at. I'm assuming you are not looking for an All-Season tire.
Thanks all for your replies. No opinion's on the GS-C's  Looks like I have some research to do. Any other thoughts on Tire Rack. Do they discount for forum members? Thanks.
GSC are not bad when new. But it's old tire technology and they are not cheap. Tire rack does not discount. You can some times get the tires for about the same grand total from a local tire shop like NTB and such. They some times will sell the tire to you for the same price, then add shipping and local tax. Then add mounting and balance. Make sure you get the final price in writing. Lots of shops try to pull a fast one.
I have had good luck by bringing in a print out of the tire rack price plus shipping. You can go through the steps of purchasing the tires online, then print it and then cancel the order. That's how i get my print out.
If they know you are willing to walk and go somewhere else, they normally give you a good price.
Btw, I'm from Northport L.I. I sure do miss that place. I have all my friends and family there still.

The GS-Cs are not a premier tire anymore. The only reason that you should consider them is if "originality" is important to you.
About 2 years ago I bought a set of the GS-C's for the front of my 94 from Tire-rack because NTB was too expensive. I've been real happy with them. Currently, I need to replace the read tires and I'll specifically put GSC's on again. Looking at TR, the run-flat's are $5 cheaper at $208/tire. Although they will fit, I wonder if they will behave properly?

P.S. NTB also told me that the GSC's would no longer be available 2 years ago!
