I've been running Potenza RE730's on my 92 for almost two years now and they have delivered a tremendous amount of performance for street, autocross and the occasional track day. The wet weather performance is also very good. I certainly can't complain about the price I paid to the Tire Rack for them, around $640 delivered.
That said, I voted for the Kuhmo MX over the RE730 GenII. From what I have heard about this tire, it is supposed to come close or maybe equal to the BFG KD in dry traction. For the money, the MX sounds well worth the price. I don't drive the 92 in the rain a lot and if I do it's only local use.
Depends on what you need from a tire - the G Force is a good every day tire. I run at the track with them, but going to slicks this year. Need to get some traction to beat the hot C-5 guys. :steering:
This is my daily driver. I drive it rain or shine. Even with an occasional frost on the ground. But if I get racing on the street, I'd like to have some great traction. Noise isn't an issue with me. Actually, the noisier the better because it adds a great effect to the car.
for a C5 I would go with the Firestones because it is the best Runflat tire currectly available but, since you have a C4 (from the pic) The RE730's are an excellent value and a great performer. The Ecsta MX is another good choice which will offer you more performance than the RE730's but, a shorter tread life and an UGLY sidewall.
since you apparently like tire noise go with the BFG Mud Terrains ;-)
Go with the BFG KDS, NOT, NOT NOT the KWDs. i think they have the best tread design available for stock c4 sizes. They stick the best and have excellent treadwear.
I would go Yokohama AVS Sports or Yokohama ES100s. They offer great grip wet or dry and good tire life. The Kuhmo is an awesome bang for the buck. Mom has Kuhmos on her 96 Impala SS now.
I tend to believe that to a certain degree, you get what you pay for. That being said, a number of people speak highly of the Kuhmo tires. If they're that good, why are they so much less than everyone else's??
Kumho's are cheap because they are made in Korea where labor is cheaper. Also they are trying to break in to the market so they charge less profit to get us to buy them.

:withstupid: just ordered mine today, a set of 4 stock size for 671, installed.
I like the Nitto 555 Extreme's. Big improvement over the stock EMT's with ride and traction. Show almost no wear after over 7K miles. Nice looking and great fit.
Just got new Michelins, now I have not tried other tires..but I am very happy now with the ride, no noise, grip, compared to stock run-flats...was tempted to try something else, but the Michelins were convienent at the time!
