Default Need Wheel Advice/Assistance....

Thinking about upgrading my wheels to 18 x 10 Front / 18 x 11.5 Rear (Tire sizes: 285/35-18 Front - 335/30-18 Rear "Michelin Pilot Sports")

The question that I have is will I need to do a mini-tub?? I'm sure the rears will stick out a little, but not sure if rubbing will occur.:skep:

Anyone running these sizes on their 'vette? How does it look, and most importantly, how does it perform?

Input appreciated!

This question keeps coming up. People have done it. I've never seen it personally so my opinion probably ain't worth much on this. I measured my C5 from the inside of the outer fender to the inner fender. You'll get 12.5"

A 335 tire is 13.5" wide, I had some on my truck. It needs to be mounted on a wider rim than 11.5" By mounting them on 11.5" you will be pulling the sidewalls in. Some say that will protect the rim. I have 295's on the back of mine. They are mounted on 11.5" wide rims. If you stand a yardstick against the sidewalls they line up with the outside of the fender.

I can barely slide my finger in between the inner fender and the sidewall.
That's about 1/2". To me, and it's just my opinion,
:troll :hat :conehead (<-that's me) that by pulling the sidewalls in, you are turning a 335 into a 295. A 335 is not designed to fit on an 11.5 rim.

I'd go with tubbing if you don't have a vert and offset inward.

Thanks for your assistance.

I think I'll just have to suck it up and tub!

It'll look a lot better and won't sling crap all over the side of your car. :yesnod:
