Default Are C5 tire pressure sensors diameter insensitive?

In other words, if I put OEM 18's on the front of my car, can I reuse the sensor from the OEM 17 I take off?

Does not matter. Yes, you can reuse the sensors in your new wheels.

All it is, is a pressure gauge and a transmitter.

30psi in a 17" wheel is the same as 30psi in a 20" wheel.

not all wheels can accept the sensors because of the way they mount .... some wheels have smaller valve holes or the valve hole is at the wrong angle (which does matter)

Thanks -- it wasn't the pressure I was worried about, it was the mounting. I guess that wasn't completely clear from my original post.

Looks like I'll be fine.

I did it. The sensor is attached to the valve stem on newer models, They use the same on the backs and fronts.
