Default 275/45/17 on front 275/35/18 on rear... Sucks

Just one more thoughtful insight so that you know what DOESN'T work.

Put on the ZO6 rims. At first I tried running my stock c5 tires, it was terrible. Then I bought the 275s for up front. It feels different, but still terrible. Now when going expresway speeds the car wants to wonder.
I will have the 295s on next week. God i hope they work out well or Im going back to stock rims and tires.:banghead:

Anyone running the 275/295 combo on 9.5/10/5 zo6 rims?

Funny you bring this up, as I was going to post a similar dilema. '99 coupe with zo6 chromies, stock run-craps. Car handles like S**T. Been investigating the Khumo MX 275/40/17 front and 295/35/18 rear. Correct application is 265/40/17 front which Khumo does not make. Their NC, SC, TN rep has the 275/40/17 and 295/35/18 ready to ship to my tire dude thru Khumo tire dealer here. QUESTION that (1) dealer, (2) rep, (3) Khumo technical people can't answer, will 9.5 inch aftermarket zo6 chromie front tire with 58mm offset, RUB on '99 coupe??? Khumo dealer says the rear is fine as size is right on. Any feedback WELCOMED! This tire, from all reports is a super application for us. P.S., maybe Luke will know and I will order from him! Thanks in advance as always guys!

Here is what I have done.
I have Kuhmo 721 275/17s in the front on my zo6 chrome 9.5x17 rims and the new Kumbo MW 295x18 on my rear zo6 18x10.5 rim and (although i have only had this set up fpr a day) it feels great.
No rubbing issues.

Another MYTH that I would like to shed light on is that with my 97 c5 with the f45 adjustable suspention set on compatition my rear stock 18x9.5 rim with the 275 x 18s RUB. Perhaps some clear but Mine would rub.

Im not trying to bull s you into my brillance, just saying what has and has not worked for me on my c5.
:skep:

A 275 18 rubs and wanders, but a 275 17 is OK up front?

I have the setup you discuss and am very pleased with all aspects. I had an alignment done to Z06 specs and found my original alignment was way off.

Miami,
The 275 / 18 s up front would rub. Yes. And I am currently running the 275/17s up front and the 295 / 18s in the rear and it feels great.

See5,

Perhaps it was in the alignment. My current setup works great with the stock alignment. Glad your setup worked out well for you.

The 295/35/18s have been avaiable for more than a month. Tire Rack and others have had them and guys are rolling around on them.
