Default How far can I go on BFG drag Radials

Hi,
I am wondering if I can drive from Cincinnati to Bowling Green on my BFG drag radials? It's about 250 miles. If possible, I'd like to be able to go to one of the Museum events and have my drag radials on so I can do the drag racing as Beech Bend.

What do you folks think? Can it be done?

I have asked the same question and everyone said yes.......just make sure the air pressure is 32-35 pounds.

Yes. I asked this a few weeks back and the general response was that it was fine for me to drive 12 hours straight on them at 32-35psi.

So, don't sweat it!

I have done more than that several times with no issues. The longest drive was 12 hours 1 way

Tony yes you can drive on the BFG to BG. However do you have full tread? The lower the tread goes the more difficult it is to drive in the rain. If it rains on the way you could have to slow down very slow of have to stop till the rain stops. Mr Mojo did it from NJ to Carlisle and got caught in rain coming back and had to drive at like 35 mph.

Redgar said it best. Depends on how much tread is left. Those have a lot less tread to start with compared to Nittos. So if the tires have any wear, be careful. Rain is a big factor also; I got caught in a downpour with half-worn Nittos and the car hydro-planed at anything over 40 mph. Another thing to consider is the wear factor; pumping them up to 35 psi will wear out already thin treaded center more than usual if you're putting 500 miles roundtrip.

I have seen many cars driving these on the street around here. They might go thru 2 or 3 sets in a summer. Definately Not a street tire for wear purposes. I wouldn't have any qualms about driving them to a far away track as they'll just wear alot more. Lookout for the rain though! :yesnod:
