Are ZR1 and GS Wheels the same Wheels?

Curious to know what wheels would be necessary for my 01 Z06 if I chose to upgrade for track events.

They will both fit but the GS will stick out less than the ZR1's.The ZR1's offset is (36) and the GS is (50)....The only difference that I know of is the offset.

Is one favored over the other for lapping events?

I would take a guess and say the GS rims.......I use the GS rims in the back for drag racing.I am sure someone will chime in who road races.
