Default mini tub? how big without it?

Question, what is the biggest size you can fit under the rear without haveing to get the mini tub? And is there anyone who makes a 315 size in 18" wheels or will I have to run 17" all around. And on that note is there anyone running 17" all around on a C5?

From what I hear its a 11.5 wheel without tubbing. You can run a 315/35/18 on it .

You could supposedly run a 325 if you could find one!
I believe there are a few manufacturers that have 315/18's
street tires (Pirelli, Michellin, a few others).

BFG is coming out with an 18" DR in the spring - Nitto also.

These are 295-18's. I cannot slip my finger between the inner fender and sidewall. If you held up a yardstick against the sidewalls, it lines up with the outside of the fender perfectly. These are 10.5 rims.

Measure the outside of the fender to the inner fender you will get 12.5 " .
25.4 mm per inch 12.5 X 25.4 = 317.5 mm. You will have problems with the diameter though. You have to keep that in mind also.

11.5" rim w/ a 335/30/18. The backspacing has to be correct to work though.

Cool  lookin hood  I have a question about tire math and trying to putting a 335 tire inside a 12.5" wide fender. Isn't a 335/30 - 18 tire 13.1" wide? (335/25.4)

13.1 X 30% = 3.93" tall sidewall + 18" rim + 3.93 other sidewall = 25.86 tall tire.

Does that not also mean that the tire treads are sticking over the edge of the 11.5" wheel by 3/4" not counting sidewalls?

The tire is made for a 12.0" rim. It will be pulled in a bit. Most look at this as a curbing protection feature. I doesn't look bad, I actually prefer the look. Mate the tire with a 275/35/18 in the front on a 9.5-10" rim. Look up CCW wheels for pictures as well as others on the CF.

I run a 17x12 ccw rim in the rear and plan on running 335s. Hope I can clear it. The guys at CCW seem to think it will work.

I am interested in seeing the results. I don't understand, as in my previous question, how you can put a 13.1" wide tire inside a 12.5" wide fender.
