Powder Coat versus Painting Wheels?

In researching the black chrome question, a body shop suggested I paint the Z06 wheels a metalic black and clear coat it the way the manufacturers do. Has anyone had experience with this?

they are smoking crack, the first time you use a mount/dismount machine on a painted wheel you will chip it.

powdercoat..definatly, it's also similar money to real paint but much more durable.
