Try looking at the various brands offeed by the Tire Rack. This link will get you to the list of brands carried:

If you drive in the wet, look at tires in the "Ultra High Performace" categories. Bridgestone RE730's, Kuhmo ECSTA Supra 712, BFG KDW, and similar types. The Michlein Pilot Sport is shown in the "Max Performance" group but it is supposed to have very good wet traction performance.
I run Bridgestone RE730's that are now 2 years old and am very pleased with their performance. Although I don't drive a lot in the wet (which means I don't drive much here in Washington  ) the do work in the rain. I also autocross with these tires and they have held up quite well. It took awhile to find the right tire pressures to run (38 front, 32 rear) but I have managed a couple trophies!. I have done some open track events on these tires and while they do a decent job at speed, I would really want something like the Kuhmo ESCTA MX or the BFG KD tires for high-speed use.
Tires like these can get expensive, although the Kuhmo appears to be the lowest cost at $108 for 275/40's. I would call Luke at the Tire Rack or e-mail him to see what they do for Canadian shipping. If you have friends in the U.S. you might try to get them shipped there and have them mounted locally. It may avoid things like taxes, duty, GST or whatever.
