This is new tire from Kumho available in C5 sizes. It is a non-runflat tire with tremendous performance at a reasonable price. The performance level rivals the BFG G-Force KD in the dry. Our testing showed that it could produce lap times close to the fastest tires we have ever tested (excluding r-compound) the cost for the entire set of 4 would be $618.00

Kumho's family of ECSTA (x’ ta) performance tires is designed to enhance every vehicle’s capabilities. The ECSTA MX member of the family elevates Kumho right into our Max Performance tire category which is reserved for the technologically advanced tires that combine highly developed materials with state-of-the-art design and advanced manufacturing methods to provide superior performance.
Designed to deliver Kumho's ultimate level of "dry" road performance while maintaining good wet traction, the ECSTA MX molds an advanced silica tread rubber compound into a directional tread pattern that features massive, stable blocks to increase cornering traction and steering response, while four large circumferential and multiple directionally-aligned lateral grooves resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Internally, the two, wide steel belts are reinforced by spirally-wound nylon cap plies to provide excellent strength, uniform ride quality, and Y-speed rated (186 mph) capability while the sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection to provide handling control and feedback.
Kumho ECSTA MX tires feature black letter styling and are available in 50-, 45-, 40 and 35-series; Y-speed rated sizes for 17" to 20" wheel diameters. Look at ECSTA MX tires if you are looking for dry road Max Performance.

Re: Kumho Ecsta MX tires (wamara)
checked these out and went with the 712's...the MX's come in stock sizes for the coupes/verts...had to go to 275/35/18 for the rears with the 712's..so far it's a great set of tires for $562 delivered to the tire changing olace...2 days from time of order from tirerack...
Can you tell me what the treadwear rating is? It wasn't on the website unless it is 220 which was the listing on the other sizes but not on the 275/40/18.
Tire manufacturers actually have 6 months to assign the UTQG numbers on new products so that the testing can be completed ... it will most likely be a 220 treadwear ...
I am interested in getting the 712's for my 1996 LT-4 vert. I looked on the sight and it does not seem like you have the right size for the rear wheel.
(285/40/17). I would opt for the MX if you have them in the right size.
Also, any chance of going wider in the back? I didn't see that on the website either.

Re: Kumho Ecsta MX tires (DEVETTE)
i'm praying kuhmo makes the MX in a 295 35 18 before long as well. i don't see any tire on the market that has the bang per buck in dry weather. i have a feeling if they ever released it along with a 315 35 17 most of the corvette world would be buying these. at least for dry tires but hey we have the 712 and yokohama es100 for the wet :yesnod:
You must have overlooked the listing then, probably because the sizes are oriented by aspect ratio, because the 295/35-18 size for the Ecsta MX is shown there.
I'd like to know the price for (2) 275/40-17 & (2) 295/35-18 Ecsta MX tires.
I wish it was available in 315/35-17, would love to have them on the rears and 285/40's on the front. E-mail Kumho and request larger sizies, if they see some demand they may respond.
