Default What's the best emt?

I just got a key in one of my tires and need to replace it. I want to get an emt tire but I'm not sure which one to get. What are the best and get good mileage.

we got 25k on stock goodyears on our 99 hardtop, 23k on 99 convertible
went with firestone firehawks (stock size) on wife's hardtop. got 25k on those also, but ride comfort, noise level, dry traction and wet traction are all better. not to mention the price being better. i putthe bridgestone so3's on my vert. beats the firehawks in all of those catagories, but i only got 15k out of them. for emt's, it is almost unanimous for the firehawks. there are people that like the goodyears, but i have never heard anyone pick them after having the firestone's. whatever you choose, prices are hard to beat at tirerack.com

This topic has come up many times in the past months. I suggest you do CF searches for: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP, Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP RFT, Goodrich, and Yokohama AVS RFT.

In summary, I have 15,000 miles on the Michelins and I would buy them again without any reservation. The Firehawks are cheaper but the drawback is they are much narrower, about an inch and a half narrower. The Goodrich are probably the best in the dry but they are not very good in the wet. The Yokos look great, seem to handle well, have a low tread life number, and they are currently unavailable. JMHO
