On my 01 cpe drivers side front tire is starting to cup on the outside edge. Anyone want to venture a quess why this is happening with 11500 miles on the clock? Is this alignment problems or air pressure. Front tires run with 30 psi hot. Wondered why the tires were so loud, man can hardly carry on a conversation with the wife.
Thanks in advance.

You need an alignment. I hope the cupping is not too bad. :cry
Front tire cupping on the inside edge happens often with the EMTs. My EMTs were cupped with more than half the tread left. The tire shop suggested to trash them because they would not feel comfortable trying to resell them.
I am very pleased with my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZPs after 14K miles. :yesnod:

I agree on the alignment being the problem, but I think the air pressure could be adding to the already noisy (by design) tire. Probably speeds up the wear a little too.
30 psi hot is around 26-27 cold - seems too low. Ya might look at the sticker on the drivers door and use what it says - some people use a few pounds more.

IMO pressure is too low and an alignment is needed, though a failing shock is also an extreme possibility. You should be running at least that pressure cold, not hot. Most truck tire shops can re-true a cupped tire that still has good tread on it. It is a machine that shaves the treadface while spinning the tire/wheel assy on the car. This is a std procedure for new retread tires, which is what most big trucks use. Getting harder to find them though.

Thanks guys for your thoughts. I'll add to the cold tire pressure and get an alignment done. The cupping is just visible to the eye, found it because I had wheels off to clean. Figured that was causing the noise.
Thanks again
