That GoodYear wants for an 18" run flat. Unfortunately, I lost a 3500 mile rear tire on my 2001 coupe. Ran over some debris, and although it holds air, the shoulder cords are cut, and unsafe/unstable for driving.
My Chevy dealer asked me if I wanted to buy a "road hazard" warranty on the tires when I bought the car, so I did. Therefore, the cost of a replacement tire shouldn't affect me personally. Since the GY store didn't want to mount the tire for fear of rim damage, I asked how much for the tire, and I'll take it elsewhere for the mount. $495.00 plus tax, is what they replied!
I was dumbfounded! I called the Tire Rack, and they sent one for $290.00 plus shipping. Obviously, TR is making a profit or they wouldn't be in business, but $495 at the GY store!!?? That's robbery!

Re: I can't believe the price........ (Grumpy)
I can not beleive some of the stuff people get away with, but I guess if you can find someone who will pay that good for them. I know the Tirerack saved me a few bucks.
