I have had a shake in the front end of my car that the tire shop can't seem to eliminate with a wheel balance. They have balanced off the car and a fine tine balance on the car. Finally they say the problem is the RH front is out of round. I jacked the car up yesterday and used a micrometer with a spring loaded pointer. The RH is out 55 thousands. The LF is out 30 t. [Wrapped 2 layers of duct take around the tire at the center tread to provide a smooth surface to measure from]
Is this amount excessive?

While your efforts are commendable I would recommend that you find a shop with a Hunter GSP 9700 Road Force balancer for a proper diagnosis.
