Hello, I have a 2009 base vette. Im trying to buy 17 inch wheels for the C6 front and back (drag/street). Vendors keep telling me they wont clear the front and nearly refuse to sell them to me because of it. I have put my stock 17x8 GTO wheel on it and my D force LTW-5 17x9s +41mm offset from the GTO on it and it clears fine I can stick my finger between the caliper and wheel. They wont give me a reason why they just say it wont work. I was looking at 17x8.5 C6Z wheels for the front and 17x9.5 rears. I know the rears will fit but why would they keep saying the fronts wont? Do the spokes hit on the face of the caliper? They clear the wheel drum on the wheels I put on it.

I HAVE 17X9.5 2002 Z06 WHEELS ON THE FRONT OF MY BASE C7, last week at a auto-x someone came up to me and said , hay do them 17's fit? i said no they dont that is why i have them on the car! jerk!, its a new car so i started out a little slow, wanted seat time untill someone said to me that maybe i would do better with larger wheels, from that point on i let it loose and took 2nd out of 53 cars with that person 3rd- how funny ( but true) it was nepascca event 4-13-14, i also was told by many that the wheels i have from my 2002 and 2008 corvettes would not fit, i did my own fitment checks, fyi the 17's dont fit the back of c7 and i never tried on the c6, i have always run 17/18 or 18's all around. enough for now.

back to my c6, my was 2008 z51, that fact you have a base makes it better. ok, first 17's do fit the rear easy, i ran 1991 zr1 rears (17x11) with 335/35/17 for the one time i went drag racing. i still have them in my shed for 12 years now, 17's ( the reason i got 2 more 18's did not fit the z51 front, rotor is larger( taller) than base car and caliper just rubbed wheel a tiny bit in some places( not the whole way around) tells us something about china aftermarket wheels. so what im saying is that c5 zo6 17x9.5 will fit your base car front and back, those wheels aftermarket, new old stock are all over the web for less than $ 140 each, the 18x10.5 are still around for under $ 150, WHY DO I KNOW THIS? because this is the setup i run on my 2014 c7 base, with 295/35/17's up front and 315/30/18's on back_ hoosiers A6's. the same set up i got back in 2002 for my c5 cp. enough for now
