Re: replacing tire sensors (brandonsvett)
|
Well I beat the dealer again! After getting a ridiculous price from the Chevy dealer and some lame brain story about having to change the entire wheel bearings just to be able to change the sensor (oh yeah, at a mere $890.00) I called another dealer who told me to call a Goodyear tire shop. Goodyear said they could change the sensor but they would have to order it from the Chevy dealer. I got a price from the Chevy dealer of $143.00 so I called Goodyear back and told them that Chevy quoted me a price of 120.00 for the sensor. Goodyear said oh yeah that is exactly how much it would be. Makes me wonder if I should have said $80.00 or so. Anyway Goodyear changed the sensor in about 10 minutes and charged me $24 for labor and $120 for the sensor. I reset the sensors with a big speaker magnet and presto, Im back in business at a reasonable cost. All I can say is beware of the car dealerships man because I get a different story every time I have to deal with em. Now that i have all the little problems worked out i believe it is a good time to put her up For Sale. Its been an awesome but costly experience but for the most part I enjoyed the ride. Later
