Default RUN-FLAT'S OR NON-RUN FLATS ON A C5?

I own a 99' Hardtop C5. I am hearing from different people as to what is the best tire to go with. One guy who owns a 99 Vette and works for America Tire Co. is telling me that he highly recommends staying with Run-Flats as the car was built to run on run-flats and it is better to use those. But others say Run-Flats are crap, and to go with non-run-flats.
So what is better?...

I got a set of Bridgestone S03s installed at Tire Rack today and just the 100 mile road home says I made the right decision.. Better ride and much quieter. And I know they will be much better at the track.

The Goodyear runflats are crap; Flintstone tires I call them. Since I take my C5 on trips, I installed a set of the FireStone runflats. A MUCH better ride! The car handles well on the street, but for the track or autocross... I dunno. Pleased with the price compared to the GY's, although ALL C5 tire prices are outrageous!

Just my .02

After having both, I much prefer non-runflats.

I just ordered a set of Non-Runflats in the GoodYear Eagle F1...same tire as the EMTs but without the hard sidewall....I want to see if both there is a better ride with a normal sidewall and better handling in corners and hard launches with these tires in this format as a comparrison...
Anybody else given this a try?
Thanks,
Tom

Non-Runflats ... only if you are prepared for the risk ...

I did replace the original Goodyears with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (Non Runflats). I have about 500 miles on the Michelins and am pleased with the change. Better ride, less noise, better tracking and the handling seems fine. Tire works well in the rain. I did make up a little kit including a low profile scissors jack ( believe it or not out of an old Chevy Lumina), flex bar with the right socket, 12 volt air compressor and plug kit. I would not go back to the Goodyear run flats. :)

I like my run flats with 20,000 miles and no problems.

I hid something on I-465/I-74 at Indianapolis yesterday (Sunday). Cut the side wall into and bent the edge of the rim. I made it home to Decatur, Il. on the doughnut. No way to fix that one. Glad I didn't have run-flats. It would have been alot longer getting home.
