Recommend some 17" wheels for my 73'

I would love some of your advice on which 17" wheels I can use on my 73' L-48. I'm currently looking at the American Racing TT II's 17x8. But, which backspacing do I go with? Its offered in 4" and 4 3/4". I think the backspacing on my car is 3 3/4 so would the 4" work ok? Also which tire size would you recommend?

17x8 TT II's with 4" backspace should work & look great on your 73,Chris.
I would probably run 255/50/17's on the rear as they are very close to stock diameter. On the front,I would probably run 245/40/17's or 255/40/17's.

I am running a series 212 eagle alloy 17 x 9.5 aluminum wheel with a 4.5" back set. Stay with that back set (4.5") with the 9.5" width and it is a bolt on and enjoy. Tires are Kumo 275-40-17's. Every thing clears and the car is lowered and runs auto cross. Wheels were purchased from wheelsforless.com and cost about $173.00 ea. Sold the OEM wheels for $500.00 and stepped into the new ones for less than $200.00. Never go back to a 15" wheel becaused the car handles so much better.

i have 255.50.17 on 8" rims on the rear.....i have found that 225.50.17 on the front give better turn-in response than 255.50.17 all round.....john :chevy
