Default Looking for serious traction rear tires for an 85. Somethin to last around 5Kmiles

I have an extensively modded 85 (see sig below). The rear tires are worn badly, but the front ones still have plenty of tread left. I eventually want to get the chrome ZR1 wheels 17X9.5 front and 17X11 rears, but that is out of my price range at this time. I really need to replace the rear tires as they are quite worn. I want something to really get me some traction using the stock rims, but these tires MUST be street legal! I am mostly interested in straight line traction, but I also autoX on occassion. When I do autoX I have to drive 120 miles one way to get there, and I don't want to take extra tires etc. with me. So I am looking for something high performance that will last between 5K and 10K miles. Price is a concern. Any advice? :chevy
