2 questions - Tire with lowest cost per mile. And a possible spare???
Hello Everyone,
My 2001 Vette will be in need of new shoes before long. I calculate the insane cost per mile for the goodyears, using current replacement prices, is about 5.9 cents per mile.:U If I installed a set of Nitto's, and assume the same mileage, they would run somewhere around 3.3 cents per mile. Certainly better for the pocket. Anyone calculated this and found the best valued tires for your money? Most *decent* (use that word loosely) priced tires for a C5 are NOT runflats; which leads to my next question.
Since I drive my C5 a lot, I'm considering finding a temp spare with a small jack to strap down in the back, and installing non runflats. Anyone done or thought about this? And are there any of those temp tires that will fit the lug pattern of a C5? Is this even possible?
FYI, Discount Tire has a Ventus brand tire (?) on their web site for the front, 245/45-17, for *only* (used loosely again) $108 shipped. Anyone tried these yet? Ok, that was 3 questions...
