offset is the distance from the hub face to the centerline of the wheel
backspacing is the distance from the hub face to the inside edge of the wheel
backspacing is easy to measure, offset has to be calculated
outside edge to outside edge measurement will usually be 1" larger than the bead to bead width (which is what rim width refers to) so a 10" wide wheel will typically measure 11" from outside edge to outside edge so the centerline (0 offset) will be 5.5" from the inner edge of the wheel
